Aquamimicry sustainable shrimp farming gained recognition by Thai National Farmers Council on 12/2/1

Nature's answers to sustainable and safer seafood for future generations

Today the President and Council Members of the Thai national Farmers Council together with the Board of Directors of the Thailand Fisheries Department visited the First Demonstration Sustainable shrimp farm using the Biomimicry principles (probably world's first) at Prachinburi.

The farm now is commissioned as a showcase and demonstration shrimp farm by National Farmer’s Council and the term semi-biomimicry has been widely accepted. The Thai National Farmers Council has given its endorsement and that Aquamimicryshould be the future not only for Thai farmers but for the world shrimp community to visit.

In fact it has gained so much publicity that the second demo farm will be operated by Chantaburi Basin Shrimp Farmer Cooperative and the 3rd would be Pakpanang Basin Shrimp Farmer Cooperative of Nakhonsritamarat province.

In addition, the local farmers will be given Financial loan support by the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives under Semi-Biomimicry RAS shrimp farming model.
